New Year's at Bear Valley!

Hello everybody from the snow! Its bright and snowy here in Bear Valley. We've been busy with snow activities for the past few days. Dad and Amanda went snowboarding yesterday while Mom and I cross country skied.

Skiing across frozen landscapes yesterday was beautiful! I was only my second time skiing, but I did pretty well, I only fell once. We skied from 8am- noon, and it was breathtaking, there was no one else on the skiing path, and everything was covered with a fresh dusting of snow from the night before. Im so glad I'm in such good shape, because it was quite a workout! I really like cross country, once I really got it, it felt like ice skating.

Here's me on the trail!

Today was pretty quiet, Dad and Amanda were up at the crack of dawn for Day 2 of skiing, while Mom and I slept in. Mom absolutely loves ghost hunter shows, so we found a few on TV and watched those until the continental breakfast started. After breakfast, we headed out on a walk around the lodge. The snow was so pretty. I love to touch the fresh snow, it feels like powdered sugar.

After our walk we headed back over to the lodge to relax by the fire and have hot chocolate. Santa gave me the entire set of Harry Potter books, so I brought my favorite (Prisoner of Azkaban) up to read. I love sitting by a nice big fire and reading, its so peaceful!

Look at these icicles!!

The News Years Eve party was alright, there wasnt much for Amanda and I to do because we were in "The Middle" age group, to young to actually go into the party (it was 21+) and too old to hang out in the lobby with all the kids. There was a band though, so that was fun.  We played cards, napped, and watched more Ghost Hunter. We walked around a bit in the snow, which was fun. I tried to build a snow man but sunk hip-deep into the fresh snow in jeans, so I gave up. We heard something in the woods (a ghost or an incubus, we couldnt decided), we had fun trying to find out what it was, and running around pretending to be ghost hunters. Its a good thing we cant get that show at home, or else I think we would all be obsessed with it.

Midnight was awesome though, they had balloons fall from the lobby ceiling and then we all went outside to watch fireworks. They were so pretty!

All in all, it was a pretty good trip, and a great new years!

Im not sure what my new years resoultion is--maybe to complete my bucket list? I'll keep you updated.

Im excited for the new year, and very ready to go back to school, despite my worries about my current living situation. Wish me luck!

Happy New Year to you all!!

<3 Kitty
